New Game Possibility (& Svalbard Grab)
In my never ending quest for new Games for IPX to play… (and also due to the Wolf-EPIC-en-FAIL-stien) Ive ramped up the quest while we wait for the next “ET:QW” to come out (Maybe Borderlands, Brink or Battlefield Heroes), and to supplement our “ET:QW, ET:W, Padman, SG’s, Insurgency & L4D” Fun nights
I also think its important to try and keep us all together playing and to bring back some of the older IPXers. Also FREE is often high on my selection criteria

I have purchased Flat Out Ultimate Carnage
and I must say it is a great game, shame the networking aspect of it suxs badly (Microsoft Live is a big FAIL)
Upshift StrikeRacer is a great FREE online racing game and I would highly recommend it
as yes I’m still playing it online and it feels very arcadeee but great for sum laughs..
If we could look at putting Upshift StrikeRacer on our server and having the server to ourselves I really think
this might be the new Car Game for us all… Big Call I know but it really is alot of fun.
Maybe a Friday night Upshift StrikeRacer Game Night is needed and well’ take over a server :P

Players are meant to have a deathmatch capture the flag type game, the interesting part is we are meant o build stuff (forts). Then during the ‘combat phaze’ the object is to go and assault the enemy’s flag and take it back to base. I imagine we can either stay to defend, or we can assault.
Insurgency: Very popular (so it seems) mod for HL2. I think most of you guys have it :-P
I’m just trying to find out how big the steam DL will be, then I’ll try DL HL2 before the weekend =D

Moving Steam Folder to another Disk
if you need to move your steam folder to a new location here is how
Moving Your Steam Installation

It is highly recommended that you create a backup of your SteamApps folder before attempting this process. Neglecting to do so may result in a loss of all of your game content should something go wrong.
If you’re low on space on the drive you have Steam installed, you can move the Steam folder to a different location. Here’s an example of how to move the Steam installation between two hard drives:
1. Log out and exit Steam
2. Navigate to the folder where Steam is installed (by default: C:\Program Files\Steam\)
3. Delete all of the files and folders except the SteamApps folder and Steam.exe
4. Cut and paste your Steam folder to the new location, for example: D:\Games\Steam\
5. Launch Steam
6. Steam will briefly update and then you will be ready to play
7. All future game content will be downloaded to the new folder D:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\

Sure wish I’d found that earlier. I installed steam on my 150GB raptor, then got the valve pack…. that made light work of my C drive. Ended up uninstalling and reinstalling on my 1st 500GB, and redownloading overnight. Impressively, a few months later that 500GB drive died, leading to me having to install it on my 3rd drive, and redownload everything again!
Thank god steam lets you do that, and thank Internode for making it ALL 20 odd gb of it each time completely unmetered.

well ATM
it is still on open beta, i like the server setup it is split into boot camp for n00bs and much harder server for the l33t.
even with a 220 ping i only got a few lag spikes when playing, i found the game to be very easy to pick up and get a good amount of run and gun going.
simple class base RED team V Blue Team
and a good amount of wepons and classes to pick from.
oww and btw did i mention free as in beer

Soldier Front: Review: Too good to be true
It is completely free, but that freeness came at a price. It started off by installing to c:\ijij\Soldier Front – without asking. Fucker… but i continued.
Then it decided it wanted xfire. I didn’t mind, I’ve used it before, it’s good. So I installed that. Then it decided it needed some launcher software…. I investigated, couldn’t see any negative reviews about it. At this point I switched over to a VM to continue as I didn’t want to be putting launcher software on my actual system. Good thing too, cos it gets worse.
Then it wanted to launch from a browser… in itself nothing bad about that. QL does that. Then it wanted a browser plugin… being a VM i tried it anyway. Figured I’ve come this far. Then it wanted me to sign up to something… again in a VM so did it. Then it didn’t send me the verification email. At that point I decided enough was enough, Soldier Front can get the f*** out.

really recommend that people with HL2 try out Eternal Silence ( HL2 mod, work with Source SDK too i guess? not sure..) That Panda mentioned above. Its good, but gets boring after awhile. Worth a try.
